European Court`s activity discussed in Baku
Baku, April 5 (AZERTAC). The Azerbaijani deputy minister of Justice Vilayat Zakhirov met with delegation of department on execution of the European Court of Human Rights judgments.
Mr. Zakhirov stressed an effective cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe and the European Court. The deputy minister informed about modernization of the court system and infrastructure. He said the Council of Europe and the EU praised a procedure of judge election in Azerbaijan. Mr. Zakhirov said during Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, 20% of Azerbaijani lands were occupied and more than one million people became refugees and IDPs.
The guests informed about their structure. They expressed their confidence that cooperation with Azerbaijan in judicial system would be successfully continued.
The guests also visited the Museum of Azerbaijani Justice History.
