Expert: Alat Port and Azerbaijan's railway infrastructure boost Middle Corridor's competitiveness
Baku, May 15, AZERTAC
The development of modern transport infrastructure in Azerbaijan is strengthening the Middle Corridor's position as one of the most promising routes between Europe and Asia, said Gaidar Abdikerimov, an international expert on logistics and transport route development, in the latest episode of the "Azerbaijan and the World" program broadcast on the AZERTAC website.
According to him, Azerbaijan has succeeded in building an effective multimodal transportation system that ensures the uninterrupted transit of cargo in various directions. He paid special attention to the development of the port of Alat, which became one of the first ports in the region to receive "green port" status in accordance with international environmental standards.
The expert noted that European clients are increasingly emphasizing environmentally friendly transportation and sustainable logistics, and therefore, the compliance of infrastructure with modern ESG requirements significantly increases Azerbaijan's attractiveness as a transit platform. He believes that the infrastructure projects currently being implemented will yield positive results not only in the near future but also in the long term.
