Azerbaijan's Independence Day and Armed Forces Day celebrated in Ankara

A solemn event marking May 28 - Independence Day of Azerbaijan and the anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces was arranged at the Beştepe Congress and Culture Center located at Türkiye’s Presidential Administration Complex in Ankara.
Co-organized by the Azerbaijani Embassy in Türkiye, the Azerbaijani Cultural Center under the embassy, the Military Attaché's Apparatus and SOCAR, the event was attended by Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, representatives of official institutions, parliament and the Armed Forces of the fraternal country, employees of the diplomatic corps accredited in Türkiye, cadets, diaspora activists, scientists and figures of culture.
The National Anthems of the two fraternal countries were performed, and a minute of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs of Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
Following the screening of a video dedicated to the achievements of the Azerbaijani government, ambassador Rashad Mammadov addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.
He emphasized the importance of the legacy of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, the first democratic state in the Islamic world, and spoke about the role of the founders of the Republic in the development of Azerbaijani statehood.
On behalf of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Turkish Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, congratulated the participants of the event and all the Azerbaijani people.
The event continued with a concert program.
