Azerbaijan’s Ombudsperson participates in ENOC’s 30th Annual Conference and General Assembly

Commissioner for Human Rights (Ombudsperson) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sabina Aliyeva participated in the 30th Annual Conference and General Assembly of the European Network of Ombudspersons for Children (ENOC), held in Barcelona, Spain.
The event brought together ombudspersons and heads of relevant child rights institutions from 32 ENOC member countries, as well as experts and children.
In her address to the conference, the Ombudsperson provided information on activities carried out in Azerbaijan to protect children’s rights, including an analysis conducted and recommendations developed concerning children’s consumption of energy drinks, as well as initiatives aimed at ensuring children’s safety in the digital environment.
Sabina Aliyeva also spoke about awareness-raising activities carried out as part of the “Child Rights” month-long campaign, including an educational video on children’s digital safety and an educational resource on children’s rights and the role of the Ombudsperson. It was noted that the Ombudsperson’s recommendations have been taken into account in legislative acts concerning children’s rights.
The event also featured discussions on the activities of ENOC member institutions, the Network’s future areas of work, and ways to further strengthen cooperation in the field of child rights protection.
As part of the visit, staff members of the Ombudsperson’s Office visited the “Barnahus” center in Barcelona, which provides services to child victims of violence, and familiarized themselves with its activities.
