Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General attends 24th Meeting of SCO Prosecutors General

An Azerbaijani delegation led by Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev paid an official visit to Russia.
As part of the visit, on October 1, the delegation attended the 24th Meeting of the Prosecutors General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states in Kazan.
Addressing the meeting on “Protecting Traditional Family Values and Preventing the Spread of Illegal Content Among Minors,” Kamran Aliyev highlighted Azerbaijan’s constitutional and legislative framework for family and child protection. He noted that the family is under special state protection and outlined measures taken by prosecutorial authorities to safeguard children’s rights and prevent minors from being involved in criminal activities.
The event also marked the 108th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor’s Office and Prosecutors’ Day, with Azerbaijani prosecutors and veterans receiving official congratulations.
As part of the visit, Kamran Aliyev met with Tajikistan’s Prosecutor General Habibullo Vohidzoda to discuss the expansion of legal cooperation and agreed to develop and sign a new cooperation program.
Prosecutor General Kamran Aliyev also met with Kyrgyzstan’s Prosecutor General Malik Bekturganov. The sides discussed the current state and prospects of cooperation between their prosecutorial authorities and emphasized the importance of continued bilateral and multilateral engagement. The Kyrgyz side reiterated its interest in Azerbaijan’s experience in the digitalization of prosecutorial activities and combating cybercrime.
In a meeting with Aleksandr Bazhenov, newly appointed Executive Secretary of the Coordinating Council of Prosecutors General of CIS Member States, Kamran Aliyev highlighted Azerbaijan’s active participation in the Council’s work and the importance of further expanding cooperation.
Kamran Aliyev also held working meetings with his counterparts from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, Saudi Arabia, Türkiye and other countries to discuss matters of mutual interest.
Meanwhile, Ilgar Safarov, Senior Aide to the Prosecutor General for Special Assignments, delivered a lecture at the Kazan Law Institute of the University of the Prosecutor’s Office of Russia on “Digital Transformation and Professional Responsibility in the Prosecutor’s Office,” sharing Azerbaijan’s experience and participating in panel discussions.
The delegation of Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General’s Office concluded its official visit to Russia.
