FIRST LADY OF AZERBAIJAN MEETS UNICEF REGIONAL DIRECTOR STEVEN ALLEN
Baku, May 14 (AZERTAC). Today Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva, First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP, has met with Mr. Steven Allen, UNICEF Regional Director for Central and Eastern Europe/CIS, who is visiting Azerbaijan.
Having welcomed the guest, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva said that closer relations and fruitful cooperation have been established between Azerbaijan and UNICEF over the last years.
The First Lady emphasized that much work have been done in Azerbaijan towards the protection of the rights of women and children. Mehriban Aliyeva also stressed the importance of Azerbaijan`s partnership with such organizations as UNICEF in this field.
Stable business ties have been established between Heydar Aliyev Foundation and UNICEF, and these ties often lead to the successful realization of joint projects, Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva emphasized.
Mr. Steven Allen said during his visit to Baku he would like to get better acquainted with the activity of Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
