HEYDAR ALIYEV`s MONUMENT UNVEILED IN DAGESTAN
Baku, June 16 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Deputy Prime Minister Elchin Afandiyev and the delegation including MPs and governors of some regions attended the opening of national leader Heydar Aliyev`s monument in the Jemikend village of Dagestan.
Here the delegation was welcomed by Head of Derbent Region Gurban Gurbanov, Dagestan`s Deputy Chairman of the People`s Majlis Naser Haydarov and Justice Minister Azadi Rahimov.
The Vice-Premier also inaugurated the Heydar Aliyev museum and sport hall at the school named after the national leader.
Speaking to the ceremony, head of the Derbent region Gurban Gurbanov said Heydar Aliyev made a great contribution to strengthening of Dagestan-Azerbaijan friendly ties.
Afandiyev stressed Heydar Aliyev was not only a President of Azerbaijan, but also a role model for Azerbaijanis living abroad.
Azerbaijani delegation is here to attend celebrative events marking 80th jubilee of Dagestan`s political figure Magomedali Magomedov.
