INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF OMBUDSMEN UNDERWAY IN BAKU
Baku, June 18 (AZERTAC). The 8th international Baku conference of ombudsmen entitled “Human rights and environment: legal and ethical aspects of climate change” has been continued today to mark the Human Rights Day and Year of Ecology in Azerbaijan.
The conference discussed impact of climate change on Azerbaijan, plight of refugees and IDPs, protection of people`s health and other issues.
The event organized by the UNESCO, Ministries of Ecology and Natural Resources and Emergency Situations brought together ombudsmen from Canada, Thailand, Slovenia, Ukraine, Moldova, Russian Federation as well as international human rights experts.
A meeting with foreign guests will be held at the ombudsman`s office on Saturday.
