INTERNATIONAL OMBUDSMEN CONFERENCE COMMENCES IN BAKU
Baku, June 17 (AZERTAC). The eighth international Baku conference of ombudsmen themed “Human rights and environment: legal and ethical aspects of climate change” kicked off in Baku. The conference is supported by UNESCO and dedicated to the Human Rights Day and Ecology Year in Azerbaijan.
Speaking at the event were commissioner for human rights Elmira Suleymanova, Deputy Premier, chairman of the state committee for refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Huseyngulu Bagirov, representative of the UNESCO Moscow Bureau Alla Ampar.
The conference will last till June 19 bringing together ombudsmen from different countries, representatives of international organizations, human rights and environmental experts.
