Kubanychbek Omuraliev: Cooperation in linguistic sphere key direction for further rapprochement of Turkic states

“This year, on the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, we are marking the 100th anniversary of the First Turcology Congress held in Baku in 1926. The adoption of a common Turkic alphabet, as well as UNESCO’s proclamation of December 15 as World Turkic Language Family Day, are considered historic steps toward realizing the goals first set in 1926,” said Kubanychbek Omuraliev, Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), during his speech at the informal Summit of the Heads of State of the Organization of Turkic States held in Turkistan.
“Our language is the common heritage of our peoples. Therefore, we regard cooperation in the linguistic sphere as one of the most important and effective directions for further rapprochement of our countries and peoples,” Omuraliev emphasized.
