MILLI MAJLIS RATIFIES CONVENTION FOR PROTECTION OF CASPIAN MARINE ENVIRONMENT

The Milli Majlis (MM) of Azerbaijan has ratified the framework Convention for Protection of the Caspian Marine Environment, Valeh Alasgarov, the MM’s Vice-Speaker, Chair of the Standing Commission on Natural Resources, Energy and Ecology told AzerTAj reporter reminding the document was signed by the five Caspian littoral states in November 2003 in Tehran, Iran. “The main goal of Azerbaijan’s joining the Convention is to contribute to prevention of the Caspian environment pollution, and protection and restoration of the Caspian bio-resources, as well as to increase control over their efficient use,” he added.
