MILLI MAJLIS SPEAKER MEETS POLISH MINISTER OF ECONOMY
Mr. Asadov pointed out the role of the heads of the two states in development of Azerbaijan-Poland relationship. “Whereas the documents signed during the visits by national leader Heydar Aliyev to Poland in 1997 and Polish President Alexander Kwasniewski to Azerbaijan in 1999 created a legal basis for all-round development of cooperation between the two countries, the official visit to Poland by President Ilham Aliyev in 2005 marked the beginning of a new stage of the relationship,” he said.
The Speaker expressed hope this visit by the Polish Minister of Economy will also contribute to expanding of mutual ties.
Minister Wozniak, for his part, expressed satisfaction with existing state of relationship between Azerbaijan and Poland. “Poland attaches importance to enhancement of cooperation with Azerbaijan, and the goal of the visit is to discuss a number of issues in this field,” he said.
The Speaker and Minister also exchanged views on the prospects of development of Azerbaijan-Poland parliamentary relations.
