MOURNING MEETING AT THE EMBASSY OF AZERBAIJAN IN MOSCOW

On 15 October, a mourning ceremony dedicated to memory of the great son of the Azerbaijani people Heydar Aliyev was held at the embassy of Azerbaijan in Moscow. The meeting, organized by the Embassy and All-Russia Azerbaijan Congress was attended by the Azerbaijani intelligentsia in Moscow, friends and brothers-in-arms of Heydar Aliyev.

Opening the mourning ceremony, assistant president Eldar Guliyev, on behalf of the Azerbaijani Diaspora expressed condolence. “The Diaspora was deeply grieved upon hearing the news on death of the great politician and father of the nation, Heydar Aliyev, who played an exclusive role in establishment of the strong and modern Azerbaijan Republic.

Speaking was at the meeting correspondent member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, editor of the “Voprosi Istorii” Ahmad Iskenderov, who said: “The most important events of the Azerbaijan’s history are connected with Heydar Aliyev’s name”.

The renowned economist and a friend of Heydar Aliyev, Konstantin Baybakov and others also stressed the idea that “Heydar Aliyev’s life was dedicated to the people, its independence and freedom”.
