NEW BRITISH MINISTERS ARRIVE IN AFGHANISTAN
Baku, May 22 (AZERTAC). Three ministers from Britain`s new government have arrived in Kabul for meetings with Afghanistan`s president.
Foreign Secretary William Hague, Defense Secretary Liam Fox and International Development Secretary Andrew Mitchell are scheduled to meet with Afghan President Hamid Karzai, as well as visit British troops, and see a British-funded development project.
Defense Secretary Fox said he wanted to see the military situation on the ground and meet senior military commanders.
Britain has nearly 10,000 troops in the South Asian country to help fight the Taliban insurgency.
Also Saturday, Afghan police said they have seized a cache of hundreds of rockets hidden on the outskirts of the capital. The find included 278 rockets with a range of 20km and 15 rockets with a range of 30km.
The discovery comes days ahead of a peace meeting to be held in Kabul that will be attended by political and community leaders.
