PACE SUMMER SESSION DUE IN STRASBOURG
Baku, June 17 (AZERTAC). The summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will be held on June 21-25 in Strasbourg.
Members of the Azerbaijan Milli Majlis Samad Seyidov, Guktakin Hajibayli, Rafael Huseynov, Ganira Pashayeva, Aydin Abbasov and Sabir Hajiyev will attend the session.
The session will focus on a wide range of issues including functioning of democratic institutions in Azerbaijan, protection of human rights in the North Caucasus region, the situation in Kosovo and the role of the Council of Europe, the state of democracy in Europe, Islam, Islamism and Islamophobia in Europe and consequences of the economic crisis.
During the session, rapporteur of the Committee on Legal Affairs and Human Rights, Azeri MP Rafael Huseynov will deliver remarks on the Islamic culture in Europe.
