The people of Iran with deep sorrow received the news on disease of the founder of the modern Azerbaijan, world famous political figure and eminent personality Heydar Aliyev. The Iranian TV channels and media disseminated news on death of the favorite son of Azerbaijan, aired special programs and published articles on his lifetime, political activity, invaluable role in development of the Azerbaijan-Iran relations and other services.

The embassy of Azerbaijan in Tehran continues to receive hundreds of telegrams of condolence and thousands of telephone calls of people who wish to share this sorrow with Azerbaijani people. The embassy organizes mourning arrangements. The Iranian Azerbaijanis, foreign citizens come to the embassy, express their condolence and respect for the personality of Heydar Aliyev – irreplaceable leader of Azerbaijan and Turkic world.

The memory book for representatives of diplomatic corps accredited in Tehran and international organizations will be opened on December 15-16. On Friday, December 19, a mournful ceremony for representatives of the local public will be conducted in the large Majlis “Nur”, Tehran.
