Political consultations held between foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Columbia
Baku, October 17 (AZERTAC). Political consultations have been held today between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Columbia.
Head of the Azerbaijani delegation at the consultations was Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov, while head of the Columbian delegation Deputy Foreign Minister Patti Londoño Jaramillo.
The sides noted high-ranking reciprocal visits contribute to developing relations between the two countries.
They said there was great potential for development of bilateral cooperation in various spheres, particularly political, economic, trade, energy, humanitarian ones.
Khalafov briefed the Columbian counterpart on the ongoing major projects in Azerbaijan and region, as well as Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
He said Azerbaijan attaches great importance to expansion of cooperation with Columbia.
The sides praised the Azerbaijan-Columbia cooperation within international organizations.
Khalafov highly appreciated the fact that Columbia supports Azerbaijan`s candidacy for non-permanent seat on UN Security Council for 2012-2013.
Patti Londoño Jaramillo, in turn, praised the major projects being carried out in Azerbaijan.
The Deputy Foreign Minister said his country was interested in expansion of cooperation with Azerbaijan in all spheres, particularly energy one.
