PRESIDENT HEYDAR ALIYEV WILL LIVE IN PEOPLE’S HEARTS
Azerbaijan is experiencing one of its most sorrowful days. Our nation has lost one of the greatest persons in its history – the outstanding politician and statesman of nowadays, the pride of the Turkish world, builder of the independent Azerbaijan State, its faithful son President Heydar Aliyev who had devoted his life become a legend to development and happy future of Motherland, which he loved more than life. The loss is irreplaceable, and the grief is incommensurable.
Our country, people and the world Azerbaijanis are in mourning. Heads of state and government of many countries, renowned public and political figures, workers of culture, art and science send telegrams to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to express Him, his family and our people their deep sympathy. This is one more indication that Heydar Aliyev was known not only as President of Azerbaijan but also as a unique person of great authority all over the world.
The great role Heydar Aliyev had played in Azerbaijan’s life and its people’s fate for more than thirty years of leading the country will never be forgotten. He was not just the leader of Azerbaijan but also the father of nation in the true sense of the word. Traces of Heydar Aliyev’s creative policy may be observed in every region of Azerbaijan.
Farewell ceremony for President of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev began at 9.00 a.m. December 15 at the “Respublika” palace. Coffin with body of the great son of our people was placed on pedestal and covered with the state flag of Azerbaijan. Flowers and wreathes were laid at the pedestal.
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, family members and relatives of Heydar Aliyev arrived at the palace.
Heads of state and governments, high-ranking officials of Azerbaijan, representatives of international organizations and thousands of citizens of Azerbaijan came to bid farewell to the nationwide leader of the country, outstanding political figure and statesman Heydar Alirza oglu Aliyev.
Streets of the Azerbaijan capital leading to the “Respublika” palace were crowded. Residents of Baku, collectives of the enterprises, organizations, representatives of the provinces came to revere memory of the father of nation. In fact, farewell of the people started upon hearing the news on death of the great leader. The people came to the President Palace and laid flowers in front of the Palace, expressed their heartfelt sorrow. The old and young, the aged and children, women and schoolchildren, scholars and students – all were paying tribute to the prominent son of the Azerbaijani people. This evidenced the deep love and endless respect to President Heydar Aliyev.
Cadets and militaries of the Nakhchivansky military lyceum that founded by President Heydar Aliyev marched in a line, revering memory of the late President. In the last ten years, President Heydar Aliyev did a lot in the army building as a Supreme Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan Republic. This was one of his prides…
President Heydar Aliyev considered himself a friend of the creative people. He loved the great poet Mammad Araz, who, despite his disease came to the farewell ceremony to pay tribute to the great leader of the Azerbaijani people.
To pay tribute to President Heydar Aliyev, once again to express him their honor, as a politician of world scale, in Baku were arriving heads of states and governments of a number of foreign countries, high rank officials, heads of renowned companies.
Among the foreign guests, also was the great friend of Azerbaijan and President Hedyar Aliyev, famous doctor, founder of the Bilkent University of Turkey, professor Ihsan Dogramachi and his spouse.
Sheik-ul-Iislam Allahshukur Pashazade prayed to Allah to rest the soul of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev, and the coffin with body of the late was taken out of the “Respublika” Palace, put on the gun carriage, which was to follow to the Cemetery of Honors.
