On behalf of citizens of St. Petersburg, I express to you and the people of Azerbaijan deep condolences on the occasion of the death of your father, the several-decade-long leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev.
The late is an outstanding statesman, who had great authority all over the world. He was at the beginnings of the friendly partnership relations between Azerbaijan and Russia. His services in formation of the Commonwealth were also great.
Heydar Aliyev’s fate was closely linked with Leningrad, St. Petersburg, whose memory he had been carried through all his life.
The citizens of St. Petersburg share in the sadness with Azerbaijani people.
