Dear Mr. President

Allow me to convey to you my deepest feeling of sorrow for the passing way of your father.

I was privileged to meet your father in person three times in Baku. I was impressed by his personality, his quiet power, and his wisdom. Heydar Aliyev was a leader, whom a nation needs in time of crisis, struggle and fateful decisions. I use to compare him with my mentor, our late prime minister and leader Itzhak Rabin who was at his age, leading Israel in a dramatic era.

I am sure that with the sadness of his death you feel stronger to need to continue his legacy, a vision of a strong and independent Azerbaijan, in turbulent times in highly troubled region.

I wish the strength to lad your country while he is no more with you.

I share with you, with your family and with the Azeri people every thing that you feel.
