PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJANHIS EXCELLENCY MR. ILHAM ALIYEV
On behalf of the International Association of Children Funds, permit me to express You – son of the great father, President of Azerbaijan, as well as the people of Your Republic, its children deep condolence on demise of Heydar Aliyev, The Children Fund of the former Soviet Union remembers and keeps in their heart the great, fatherly attitude to the left children that demonstrated Heydar Aliyev at the post of the First Deputy of Chairman of the Soviet of Ministers of the USSR, member of the Politburo of CC of CPSU. At that time, he with great interest and aspiration considered my letter related to the orphan children in the Soviet Union, I sent to him. Politburo in a short time organized preparation of the Resolution of the CC of CPSU, Soviet of Ministers, on this topic, which is the basic document in the post-soviet space up to date. In those memorable days, I several times met Heydar Aliyevich, and saw his authentic, state, civil, fatherly attitude towards the problem of the children, his worthy humane sincerity, wisdom. In the following years of his stay in Moscow, as You remember, our roads crossed at the hospital. These were not the best years of Heydar Aliyevich, but I saw how vigorously he lives up the betrayal of the shortsighted leaders, what a remarkable energy he had in his tired heart.
We with love and attention watched how the people of Azerbaijan bow their heads before Heydar Aliyevich, asked him to lead it. Those were difficult years of his leadership after collapse of the Soviet Union. Again the wisdom, huge political and economic experience of Aliyev came to serve the people of Azerbaijan. We consider that this was the highest point of rise of Heydar Aliyevich. The orphan children of all the CIS countries, of course, cannot know the greatest role that Heydar Aliyevich played in their destiny, but we, the International Association of Children Funds witness it.
Memory on Heydar Aliyevich as an authentic, genius defender of the children will forever remain in our memories, our hearts.
