I was deeply grieved upon hearing the new of the death of Heydar Aliyev. On behalf of the French Senate and on my own behalf, I offer my profound condolences to you and your family. We have many meetings with the late President, and he remain in our memory as a very strong-willed man.
President Heydar Aliyev who had boundless services in gaining independence of Azerbaijan, laid the foundation for further development of the country as well.
The people of France will never forget the big friend of their country Heydar Aliyev, who will forever live in their hearts.
