I deeply grieve together with You and the people of Azerbaijan over passing Your father, the recognized longstanding national leader of the Azerbaijan Republic Heydar Aliyevich Aliyev.
The outstanding statesman who had enjoyed deserved authority throughout the world has passed away. For many years, the fruitful activity of Heydar Aliyev had been bound up with common history of our peoples. He stood at the beginnings of strategic partnership between Russia and Azerbaijan, and made his great personal contribution to strengthening our friendship and mutual understanding.
This is a irretrievable loss for the Commonwealth of the Independent States and the whole international community.
In this tragic hour, I express my deepest sympathy to the fraternal people of Azerbaijan, and family and relatives of Heydar Aliyevich.
