It was with deep sorrow that I learned of the passing of Heydar Aliyevich Aliyev, Your father, the big friend of Uzbekistan, wise and outstanding statesman, faithful son of Azerbaijan and fine man who had devoted all his life to selfless serving the people.
The historical role of Heydar Aliyevich in establishment and strengthening Azerbaijan’s independence, rising the country’s prestige in the international arena, development and reinforcement of the relations between our countries and peoples is doubtless.
At this sorrowful hour to You and the people of Azerbaijan, on behalf of the people of Uzbekistan and on my own behalf I want to express my deepest sympathy and condolences at the irreplaceable and severe loss.
