We would like to convey our personal condolences on the passing of your father, former President Heydar Aliyev. We worked with him closely in the search for a resolution of the conflict over Nagorno Karabakh and were greatly impressed by his firm commitment and unceasing efforts to resolve this conflict through peaceful means. We particularly admired his sense of responsibility for settling this conflict and relieving the suffering of the Azeri people who were displaced from their homes. Please accept our most sincere condolences for the great loss your family and your country have suffered.
Please be assured that we will, as the Co-Chairmen of the Minsk group, remain committed to doing everything we can to support the peace process. We look forward to working with you towards the goal of finding a peaceful, mutually acceptable resolution of the conflict.
