PROSPECTS OF CO-OP BETWEEN SPECIAL SERVICES OF AZERBAIJAN AND TURKEY DISCUSSED
The Turkish guest and the delegation have visited the Alley of Honors, revered memory of the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and laid flowers. The delegation also visited the Alley of Martyrs and laid wreaths on the monument erected to the Turkish soldiers who fell for Azerbaijan’s independence and territorial integrity in battles against the Bolshevik-dashnak troops in Baku in 1918 of the last century.
In the frame of visit, the Minister of National Security of Azerbaijan Eldar Mahmudov met with the Chief of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT) Emre Taner and the delegation. ‘My visit will play certain role in development of cooperation between the special service bodies of Turkey and Azerbaijan’, Minister Emre Taner underlined.
In the meeting, discussed were the works done for combat against transnational organized crimes and terrorism, migration processes, the problems stemming from this, and the prospects of efficient cooperation between the Turkish and Azeri special services.
Minister Eldar Mahmudov gave detailed information on the criminal situation in the country and the factors motivating it, the activities Azerbaijan implement in connection to safety problems.
Expressing consent with the results of discussions carried out around the issues actual for ensuring of the safety interests of the country, Emre Taner said he was deeply impressed during his first visit to the fraternal Azerbaijan. ‘The links between relevant structures are developing constantly’, Mr. Taner emphasized. He expressed confidence that the meetings held in Baku would be effective to cement bilateral relations.
In the meeting passed in mutually understanding atmosphere, also were focused a range of other questions representing mutual interest.
