Seminar on fight against cross-border crime ends in Baku

Baku, April 7 (AZERTAC). A seminar on fight against cross-border crime, human and drug trafficking as part of South Caucasus Integrated Border Management (SCIBM) project has wrapped up in Azerbaijan`s capital.

Employees of Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Internal Affairs, State Customs Committee, State Border and Migration Services, Georgian officials, and Czech experts of International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) attended the event.

The three-day seminar saw debates on illegal drug trafficking in Czechia and EU countries, cooperation in combating illegal drug and human trafficking, and special aspect of trafficking of children

SCIBM project aims to enhance strategic border management capacities; develop and establish procedures and operations related to integrated border management; demonstrate the benefits of integrated border management through the implementation of pilot programmes; deliver equipment for pilot Border Control Points and related units for implementation of integrated border management.
