SEMINAR ON MIGRATION POLICY IN AZERBAIJAN KICKS OFF IN BAKU
Baku, June 8 (AZERTAC). A seminar on “Migration policy in Azerbaijan” started in Academy of Justice, in Baku to implement a project “Capacity Building in International Relations” (CABIR).
The event was organized within Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Centre for International Governance of the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (CIG-CIIDS).
Pro-rector of Academy of Justice Ilham Abbasov said number of labor migrants to Azerbaijan increase year by year due to achievements in economy and new job places. He said in accordance with the executive order of President Ilham Aliyev, March 19, 2007, State Migration Service has been set up in Azerbaijan to realize state policy in migration section and develop management system.
The representatives of the Prosecutor General Office, ILO, Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population and other state structures attended the event.
Chief of Alumni Council of CABIR Rashid Majidov said the project offers training courses on human rights, humanitarian law, international economics and negotiation for young government officials.
