SOCAR fuel station in Mykolaiv region hit by drone strike
Kyiv, July 5, AZERTAC
The Russian Armed Forces have struck a SOCAR fuel station in Ukraine using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
On the evening of July 5, a SOCAR fuel station in the Mykolaiv region was attacked by drones. The strike caused an explosion at the station.
“SOCAR Energy Ukraine” confirmed the information to AZERTAC, stating that three “Shahed”-type attack UAVs targeted the fuel station located at 2A Odeska Street in the village of Nechayane, Mykolaiv region. As a result of the strike, the administrative building of the station was damaged.
According to the company, thanks to preemptive safety measures, strict adherence to safety instructions during air raid alerts, and the availability of a shelter, more serious consequences were avoided. Since all employees were in the shelter during the attack, no one was injured.
In recent days, the Russian army has carried out mass air strikes on fuel stations in various regions of Ukraine.
Last summer, two SOCAR fuel stations in the village of Berezina, Zhytomyr region, sustained serious damage as a result of explosions.
Additionally, on the night of August 8, the Russian Armed Forces attacked a SOCAR oil depot in Ukraine’s Odesa region with “Shahed”-type UAVs. The drone strikes caused a fire, and four people were seriously injured.
