SULEYMAN DEMIREL VISITED EMBASSY OF AZERBAIJAN TO ANKARA
In his speech to the journalists, Mr. Suleyman Demirel said:
“Esteemed President of the fraternal neighboring Azerbaijan, my dear friend and brother Heydar Aliyev died in Cleveland yesterday. He will be forever remembered as great statesman and the eminent leader of Azerbaijan, Turkey and the Turkic world. I express my profound condolence to my brothers in Azerbaijan, people of Azerbaijan, Turkey and the Turkic world. Let Allah rest his soul in peace.
Within ten years, Heydar Aliyev could achieve Azerbaijan’s recognition on the world scale. Due to Heydar Aliyev, Azerbaijan’s independence became eternal. Heydar Aliyev said: “ Turkish-Azerbaijani friendship will be forever existed and nothing could impedes that”. Today, we remember him with a feeling of thanks.
The independent Azerbaijan state, in establishment of which he made a great contribution will be existed forever as a friendship between Turkey and Azerbaijan. I’d like to say the people of Azerbaijan: “I share your boundless grief. We have the only consolation- two fraternal and friendly countries will further make headway hand in hand and nip and tuck to render assistance and support each other. Azerbaijan is on the right way. Let Allah keep soul of the great political figure, President Heydar Aliyev, in peace.
