TOTALFINAELF TO BUY FIRST CONSIGNMENT OF AZERBAIJANI OIL IN 2004
France's TotalFinaElf has won a tender to buy the first consignment of Azerbaijani oil exported through the Baku-Novorossiisk pipeline in 2004, a source in the marketing department of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) told AzerTAj.
This consignment will amount to 130,000 tons and it will be shipped on January 17-18 from the port of Novorossiisk.
SOCAR plans to export 210,000 tons of oil via the northern pipeline in January 2004. A tender for the remaining 80,000 tons will be announced next week.
Total Azerbaijani exports through Novorossiisk in 2004 will amount to 2.5 million tons, the same level as in 2003.
