US EXPRESS SYMPATHY TO AZERBAIJAN
On Decembers 15, on behalf of US government, the Deputy Adviser to the Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasia Linn Pasko visited Embassy. He made notes in the book and said to AzerTAj correspondent: “We have sent a US delegation to the farewell ceremony in Baku. We have the very close relations with Azerbaijan and its people. We highly respected President Heydar Aliyev. Today, on behalf of myself and on behalf of the department of Europe and Eurasian State department, I would like to express my high respect.
Chairman of the United Committee of the heads of staffs of US Armed Forces, General Richard Mayers expressed his condolence to Azerbaijani military attachй in Washington, Azerbaijan Armed Forces and people of Azerbaijan on demise of the national leader Heydar Aliyev. General expressed his confidence that cooperation between the countries in the sphere of military and security would be continued in future.
The well-known political scientist Zbignew Bzezhinski sent a telegram of condolence to the President Ilham Aliyev and people of Azerbaijan.
Vice-President of American BP office on relations with government and international relations Peggy Hadson expressed his profound sympathy on the passing of President Heydar Aliyev. He said: “ He was a farsighted leader. He was a person, who could easily bring numerous disagreements to a common point. His invaluable leadership in development of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline project inspired the government of the United States and business-circle functioning in Azerbaijan let them neatly imagine how this project was important for them. The BP Company felt high proud of working with President Heydar Aliyev”.
