US recognizes the fact of occupation of Azerbaijani lands
Baku, January 18 (AZERTAC). Defense minister of Azerbaijan, colonel-general Safar Abiyev today met with the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of European and Eurasian Affairs Eric Rubin. Noting the certain success in cooperation in versatile fields between the two countries, Abiyev also underlined notable bilateral military cooperation.
Speaking the current military situation in region, the defense minister said Armenia continues its aggressive policy that caused about million of refugees and IDPs in the republic.
Delay of peace processes and protraction of occupation may lead to military operations in region and the OSCE Minsk Group should increase its negotiation efforts, Safar Abiyev emphasized.
Speaking of the events in region the American guest said his country would increase all possible opportunities to move the problem, stressing that the United States is much interested in territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
Mr. Eric Rubin said the United States recognizes the fact of occupation of Azerbaijani lands.
