YEMEN`s DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER ESCAPES UNHARMED AFTER MASKED GUNMEN ATTACK HIS CONVOY
A Yemeni official says gunmen attacked the convoy of the country`s deputy prime minister, who escaped unharmed.
Security director Mansour Hadi says Sadiq Amin Abu Ras was returning from National Day celebrations in the province of Shabwa, southeast of the Yemeni capital of San`a, when the attackers opened fire on his convoy Thursday. Abu Ras` bodyguards returned fire, and the gunmen fled. Hadi said there were no casualties.
It was not immediately clear who was behind the attack.
