A total of 50 people injured in clashes with police in Yerevan

A total of 50 injured people were hospitalized in Yerevan as a result of clashes between protesters and the police, Armenian Health Ministry reported Friday, according to TASS.
"Both civilians and police officers were injured during clashes at the cross of Proshyan and Demirchyan Streets. A total of 50 people were delivered to various medical centers, one in serious condition, he is undergoing surgery," the Ministry said.
Earlier on Friday, protesters demanding resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan blocked the government building and then attempted to block exits from the building; it was there that clashed with the police happened. Law enforcement officers used flashbangs and started detaining protesters.
Large-scale protest rallies of the opposition have been going in Armenia since May 1. Opposition parties claim that Prime Pashinyan prepares to sign a peace treaty with Azerbaijan, recognizing Nagorno-Karabakh as part of this country. Protests have been going on in Yerevan almost daily.
