ADA hosts 2nd Annual International Festival
Baku, April 27 (AZERTAC). The 2nd Annual International Festival has been held at Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy (ADA).
Azerbaijani and foreign students and representatives of foreign embassies in Baku, representatives of international organizations participated in the event.
Speakers included ADA Pro-Rector Fariz Ismayilzade, Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Araz Azimov, head of the administration of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Firidun Gurbanov.
Representatives from 20 countries including USA, China, Greece, Hungary, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Pakistan, Sweden, Jordan, Romania, Belarus, Russia, Palestine etc. represent cultural heritage and examples of national cuisine.
According to ADA, the aim of the festival is to popularize cultural dialogue among foreign students studying in Azerbaijan.
The First International Festival took place last year and was a huge success as 17 embassies represented their countries. Various dance performances, colorful country stands, authentic food and delicious pastries from different countries enriched the event which was enjoyed by 200 plus visitors. The guests also enjoyed interacting with each other and building connections.
It is also a great chance for the foreign students of different universities in Baku, including ADA, to cooperate with each other and to get to know more about diplomatic missions and their activities in Azerbaijan.
The festival featured performances of Azerbaijani mugham singer Alim Gasimov and his daughter Fargana Gasimova as well as folk dances of Azerbaijani, Turkish, Belarusian, Palestinian, Indian bands.
