Azerbaijan joins flower parade in Netherlands
Baku, April 25 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijani composition was represented in annual “Flower Parade” held in the Netherlands on April 21-22 on the eve of the National Holiday, Koninginnedag or Queen`s Day.
Azerbaijani composition prepared by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Azerbaijani Dutch Friends Society`s organization and dedicated to Eurovision 2012, which to be held in Baku in May aroused keen interest among visitors.
The opening ceremony of the parade brought together family members of the Dutch Queen, government officials and other high-ranking representatives.
Azerbaijan ambassador to the Netherlands Fuad Isgandarov, who also attended the event, noted that the parade gives special contribution to the inter-civilization dialogue.
Stressing Azerbaijan`s special attention to the promotion of intercultural and interreligious dialogues, Fuad Isgandaov said that the country hosts different international events.
“First lady of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva has special role in the organization of such high-level events,” he emphasized.
Winners of Eurovision 2011 Eldar Gasimov and Nigar Jamal participated in the parade and special program of local Max TV Channel.
Ell and Nikki updated the audience on Azerbaijan, the organization of Eurovision 2012 and further plans.
