Azerbaijan, Mexico discuss prospects for energy cooperation

Baku, March 16 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Mexico Ilgar Mukhtarov has met with country`s new energy minister Jose Antonio Meade.

They stressed the importance of existing potential for development of energy cooperation between Azerbaijan and Mexico.

The sides also discussed prospects for cooperation.

Mukhtarov briefed Meade on Azerbaijan`s oil sector and operations of the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy.

The Minister underlined the necessity of expanding relations between the countries in the energy field.

Meade said his country was interested in cooperation in experts and students exchange.

The Mexican Minister stressed the need to establish relations with respective higher education institutions.

The parties discussed the possibility of participation of Mexico in an international Caspian oil and gas exhibition and conference incorporating refining and petrochemicals in Baku on June 7-10.
