AZERBAIJAN OFFICIALLY DENIES PLAYING HOST TO SECRET PRISONS
The Council of Europe has asked Azerbaijani government about the report of secret prisons across the country.
Azerbaijan officially denied existence of such facilities, and sent report to the Council’s Secretary-General Terry Davis and the European investigator, Swiss Senator Dick Marty.
Samad Seyidov, head of the Azerbaijani delegation at PACE (Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe), denied playing host to secret detention facilities.
Mr. Seyidov said the government had sent to the Council of Europe all the necessary documents proving that there are no secret jails in Azerbaijan.
