Azerbaijani delegation attends Summit on Transnational Crime and Global Security Forum
Baku, November 17 (AZERTAC). Chief of Azerbaijan`s Presidential Administration`s department for the work with law-enforcement bodies Fuad Alasgarov, Deputy National Security Minister Ali Shafiyev, representatives of the commission on Combating Corruption, General Prosecutor`s Office and Ministry of Internal Affairs are attending the 13th International Summit on Transnational Crime and Global Security Forum in Geneva, Switzerland. The event organized by Crans Montana Forum.
The event which has gathered state and government officials from 60 countries and more than 200 representatives from various international organizations and transnational companies focuses on international security, combating against transnational crime, terrorism and corruption.
Opening the Summit, founder and Executive Chairman of the Crans Montana Forum Jean-Paul Carteron touched on international threats such as transnational crime and terrorism. He also briefed the participants on Baku`s hosting the next annual session of the Forum, spoke of Azerbaijan`s rapid development. Carteron stressed development, stability and security achieved in the country would contribute to the regional security.
Speaking in the event, Fuad Alasgarov conveyed Azerbaijani President`s greetings to the Forum participants. He provided information on the legal reforms in the country. Alasgarov also pointed out Azerbaijan`s active participation in the coalition against terrorism and underlined country`s role in international energy security.
Alasgarov said the Armenian occupation of Azerbaijani territories impacts regional security negatively.
Azerbaijani Deputy National Security Minister Ali Shafiyev also addressed the event and informed the attendees on activities of country`s national security bodies.
Azerbaijani delegation is scheduled to hold a number of meetings with the representatives of different international organizations and foreign countries.
The event will last till November 19.
