AzTU students win six medals and special award at competition in U.S.

Students of Azerbaijan Technical University (AzTU) earned six medals and the “Semi-Grand Prix” special award at the Silicon Valley International Invention Festival – SVIIF 2026, an international innovation competition held in California, USA. Six of the eight projects representing Azerbaijan at the festival were developed by AzTU students.
The university was represented by second-year master’s student and project author Safarali Safarli, and team lead engineer Anar Mammadov. Safarali also led the Azerbaijani national team. All six projects received awards from the international jury.
Another major achievement for Azerbaijan was the first-ever presentation of a domestically developed drone flight controller as a national product. Developed by AzTU student Anar Mammadov, the controller was successfully used in projects showcased at the festival.
With more than 500 inventors from over 30 countries taking part, AzTU students won 3 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal.
The Azerbaijani delegation joned the festival with the support of the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
