AZERBAIJANI DELEGATION GETS ACQUAINTED WITH CONSTRUCTION WORK OF COUNTRY`S FIRST SATELLITE
Baku, October 4 (AZERTAC). With the view of inspecting the preparation work done in connection with the project to develop and launch into orbit first telecommunications satellite of Azerbaijan, a delegation headed by the deputy minister of communications and information technologies Iltimas Mammadov attended the official meeting held at the headquarters of Orbital Sciences Corporation in Dallas (Virginia), USA.
The vent was attended by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to the U.S. Yashar Alliyev, representatives from Malaysian company MEASAT Satellite Systems, Orbital Sciences Corporation and its subcontractors.
The meeting focused on the work done since the signing of the contract and work lies ahead. Primary data concerning designing of satellite and its launch into orbit were discussed during the meeting. The meeting took place in working environment and issues regarding projection of the satellite and terrestrial equipment of late and exchanged views on several issues.
Besides, Iltimas Mammadov and Yashar Aliyev met with Chief Executive Officer of Orbital Sciences Corporation David Thomson and it was underlined at the meeting that the project for construction of the first telecom satellite of Azerbaijan and its launch into orbit will make significant contribution to the development of economic relations between Azerbaijan and the U.S. in information technologies sphere. Moreover, Azerbaijani delegation visited the production area where work is under way on production, integration and testing of the satellite.
