Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy holds several meetings in China

An Azerbaijani delegation led by Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov has held a number of meetings as part of the visit to the People's Republic of China (PRC).
During the meeting with Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission of the People's Republic of China Zheng Shanjie, the sides hailed the development of relations between the two countries in various areas. They also discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in economic, trade, energy, transport, transit, investment, information and communication technologies, humanitarian, tourism and other fields.
It was noted that the friendly relations between President Ilham Aliyev and President Xi Jinping as well as their political wills are the main driving forces for the development of bilateral cooperation. The high-level relations established between the two countries provide ample opportunities for strengthening the economic partnership.
The Chinese delegation was informed about the work done in Azerbaijan in the field of sustainable development. It was emphasized that special importance is attached to sustainable economic growth as well as the application of "green" and "smart" concepts in the reintegration works carried out in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan within the framework of "Azerbaijan 2030: National Priorities for socio-economic development".
Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy and China’s National Development and Reform Commission signed a “Framework Agreement on Strengthening Production Capacity and Investment Cooperation.”
The document was signed by Azerbaijani Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov and Chairman of the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission Zheng Shanjie.
During the meeting with President and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Jin Liqun the parties hailed the fact that Azerbaijan has been maintaining successful cooperation with the Bank since 2016, emphasizing the importance of this partnership.
The sides exchanged views on prospects for cooperation on the Southern Gas Corridor project, Baku International Sea Trade Port, railway infrastructure, shipbuilding and other transport-transit and logistics projects as well as the Azerbaijani segment of the Middle Corridor.
The two also discussed the main directions of potential cooperation, the future activity priorities of AIIB in Azerbaijan, including promising projects on "green energy" and infrastructure development.
