Baku and Moscow must agree their economy-related positions, Russian PM
Baku, September 20 (AZERTAC). Baku and Moscow have to agree their positions on economic issues, including energy ones, said Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev during his meeting with participants of the 15th OANA General Assembly.
He said it is necessary to stick to the agreed economic policy taking into consideration existing special and cordial relations between Azerbaijan and Russia.
The Russian Premier described Russia-Azerbaijan relations as “very good”. He stressed: “We are partners and develop our all-round cooperation. It has always been like this, and I believe it will be continued in the future. This manifests itself in all fields of our cooperation.”
Medvedev has also highlighted the priority areas of cooperation between Russia and Azerbaijan including the energy one.
He said: “Azerbaijan is a very big player in an energy market. And it seems to me it is very important for us to coordinate our positions on several issues.”
According to the Russian Premier, the sides could be an opponent to each other in various situations, but “this is a normal case in international practice”.
He said: “I think we will come to an agreement. Anyhow, we, the Russian government, will do everything possible to achieve this. I hope our Azerbaijani partners - Azerbaijani leadership - will share the same stance.”
During the meeting with the Russian Premier, Azerbaijan was represented by AZERTAC and Trend news agencies.
The 15th OANA General Assembly is underway in Moscow.
