Ukrainian forces liberate 26 villages during offensive on Oleksandrivka axis – Zelenskyy

During an offensive operation on the Oleksandrivka axis from January to August 2026, the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces and other units involved in the operation liberated 745 square kilometers of territory and restored Ukrainian control over 26 villages in the Dnipro, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions.
According to Ukrinform, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this in a Facebook post.
"From January through August of this year, our warriors of the Air Assault Forces and other units carried out an effective offensive operation in the Oleksandrivka sector. Thanks to the active operations of our troops, significant losses were inflicted on the occupation contingent," Zelenskyy said.
Russian losses amounted to at least 9,550 personnel killed and more than 6,600 wounded. Ukrainian forces also captured Russian personnel, adding to Ukraine's "exchange fund."
"Over the course of the operation, 745 square kilometers of territory were liberated. Twenty-six villages in the Dnipro, Donetsk, and Zaporizhzhia regions were returned to Ukrainian control. This offensive operation of ours was carried out with precision – exactly as planned," Zelenskyy said.
Today, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Mykhailo Drapatyi, Chief of the General Staff Ihor Skybiuk, and Commander of the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces Oleh Apostol briefed the president on the results of the offensive and further steps.
"I am proud of the courage of Ukrainian warriors!" Zelenskyy said.
As reported, Russian military personnel losses reached 42,860 in July, the highest monthly figure since January 2025.
