Baku hosts Environmental Project Olympiad “Inepo-Eurasia”
Baku, April 6 (AZERTAC). The 6th International Environmental Project Olympiad (Inepo-Euroasia) has kicked off today at the Heydar Aliyev Sport-Concert complex.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of some state organizations and education workers. The event brought together 400 students from 42 countries including Azerbaijan, Turkey, Georgia, Indonesia, Lithuania, Thailand, Laos, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, Great Britain, Russia, Poland, Ukraine, Turkmenistan and Romania.
The Olympiad is aimed at increasing the youth`s awareness of ways of solving the growing environmental problems and preserving environment in Azerbaijan and across the world.
The Olympiad is co-organized by Azerbaijan`s State Oil Company (SOCAR), Azerbaijan`s ministries of Ecology and Natural Resources and Education, Cag Ogretim Isletmeleri and Inepo-Euroasia companies.
During the event, the participants presented projects on various themes.
According to Arif Gomleksiz, General Coordinator of INEPO-EUROASIA, the projects presented in 4 categories will be assessed by the juries and totally 28 of them will be awarded golden, silver and bronze medals. The award ceremony will take place on April 7.
Gulu Novruzov, deputy education minister, Rafiga Huseynzade, SOCAR Vice-President, Firdovsi Aliyev, deputy minister of Ecology and National Resources, Elsavar Agayev, deputy health minister, and, Anvar Ozaran, head of Cag Ogretim Isletmeleri, were also present at the event.
