CAR ACCIDENT LEAVES 12 DEAD IN CENTRAL CUBA

Baku, September 25 (AZERTAC). A trailer carrying goods got loose from a truck and collided head-on with a bus in Sagua la Grande municipality in central Villa Clara province causing an accident whose death toll reaches 12 while 36 people got injured.

The accident happened in the road connecting Sagua la Grande with Santa Clara city this Thursday afternoon.

Traffic Officer Eduardo Lopez told ACN the details of the accident, including the names of the victims and where the injured people were taken to.

Head of the Nueve de Abril Hospital Gladys Zuazaga said that right after the accident the Emergency System was activated which helped the victims to the closest hospital. Those with lesser traumas, 14, stayed at her hospital, while 18 were released after receiving first aid treatment.

The other four were taken to Santa Clara Hospital were they underwent surgery for their injuries, and one of them is reported in critical state.
