“Dow Chemical” keen on cooperation with SOCAR
Baku, April 11 (AZERTAC). Chief of Azerbaijan State Oil Company (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev met with Ihsan Necipoglu, general manager for Turkey and Central Asia of the “Dow Chemical” Company within the Oil Gas Processing and Petrochemical Complex (OGPC) Forum in Baku.
The head of SOCAR updated the guest on achievements gained in Azerbaijan`s oil and gas industry and the new oil strategy. Mr. Abdullayev said the Oil Gas Processing and Petrochemical Complex (OGPC) Forum in Baku is a graphic evidence of achievements. The SOCAR chief said this complex will let produce high-quality goods in gas and oil processing and petrochemical fields.
Mr. Abdullayev underlined that President Ilham Aliyev has signed an executive order on establishment of Sumgait Chemical Industrial Park. He emphasized that there was a source of raw materials for chemical industry in Azerbaijan. He also touched on development of new gas fields. Rovnag Abdullayev said the Oil Gas Processing and Petrochemical Complex would play an important role in development of the country and the whole region. He stressed significance of participation of foreign companies in designing and construction works of the complex.
Ihsan Necipoglu praised the Oil Gas Processing and Petrochemical Complex project. Mr. Necipoglu said the Dow Chemical is a provider of plastics, chemicals, and agricultural products with a presence in about 160 countries and employing about 50,000 people worldwide. Mr. Necipoglu said the Dow Chemical Company can support development of the project in spheres of license and technology. He said the Dow Chemical is keen to cooperate with SOCAR in implementation of the large-scale projects in Azerbaijan and within the Petkim Petrochemical Holding Company.
