Georgia hosts presentation of project for educationally deprived children
Tbilisi, April 27 (AZERTAC). A presentation of the project “New opportunities for educationally Deprived Children” has been conducted by the Civic Development Institute in Marneuli, Georgia.
The project is supported by the European Union and the Open Society Institute.
Project Director and Education Programme Manager at Civic Development Institute, Tamar Mosiashvili noted that the project aims to promote the integration of children`s living in Poverty, under high risk and minority populated regions into society, to achieve the goal the following activities are being implemented.
The education experts develop manuals, training-programs on Literacy, Numeracy, Life Skills, Civic Education and ICT literacy, teacher guides on Critical and Creative thinking methods and practical recommendations of implementing these approaches in Classes.
Three education centers for educationally deprived children are being established in Tbilisi, Marneuli and Ambrolauri.
The project partner, regional coordinators of the Marneuli Youth Mamed Mirzoyev presented the planned activities.
The participants discussed the existed problems and opportunities to overcome the education gaps for educationally deprived children.
