Greece-Azerbaijan Friendship Association founded in Thessaloniki
Baku, September 12 (AZERTAC). Greece-Azerbaijan Friendship Association has been founded in Thessaloniki, Greece.
Participants in the constituent assembly of the Association included Greek government officials, Greek Minister of Macedonia and Thrace Theodoros Karaoglu, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Greece Rahman Mustafayev, President of the Association Charalampos Tsarukhas, rectors of Greek universities, and President of the Exporter Association of Northern Greece.
Speaking to the event, Ambassador Mustafayev highlighted the history of Azerbaijan, as well as socio-economic situation in the country and its foreign policy.
He underlined prospects for development of the Azerbaijani-Greek relations.
The Ambassador said the Association was the second largest Greek organization after the Greek-Azerbaijan Chamber of Commerce established with the aim of fostering cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade, investment, culture, education, science, youth affairs and sports.
